NASHVILLE — October 4, 2018 — Darin & Brooke Aldridge are set to appear this weekend on the wholesome, down-home staple of country television, Larry’s Country Diner. The appearance will air first on Thursday, October 4 at 8:00 p.m. EST with a follow-up showing on Saturday, October 6 at 11:00 pm EST. The program airs on the RFD network and is available through all cable providers.
The acclaimed bluegrass duo also appears in the second hour of Mountain Stage, guest-hosted by American storyteller Bil Lepp. Their performance took place as a part of a live taping at the Augusta Heritage Festival on the campus of Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, WV. The show, which also features Kathy Mattea, Blue Yonder, and Joe Newberry, will be broadcast this weekend on NPR affiliate networks across the country and will also be available as a podcast.
Brooke Aldridge made news when she took home the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) award for “Female Vocalist of the Year” for the second consecutive year. “I was completely overwhelmed to receive the win for ‘Female Vocalist’ again this year,” she said. “I never imagined that I would win it once, much less a second time. It was a huge honor just to be in the running and in a category with women who I admire so greatly in this business and that I definitely look up to. It is also a great feeling to be recognized for doing what I love and have always loved since I was a little girl.” Aldridge was also nominated for “Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year” in 2018. In 2017, Darin received the IBMA award for “Mentor of the Year.” The duo will hit the road in November for a tour of the southeastern United States.
